Could my low SAT IIs kill my chances?

Hey,
I took the SAT IIs in early December with no prep because I was busy with school/sports. On top of that, I didn't feel great on the test day. I accidentally sent in all my scores which were very low for Stanford's standards. Since Stanford doesn't require them, is there a chance they would ignore them? My scores were:

Bio E: 740
Math II: 610
Lit: 570

I'm a senior who has already submitted my app. I guess standardized testing isn't my thing because my ACT wasn't amazing either (32).

Thanks :)

IIRC, they don’t count SAT 2 scores against you, only for.

I’ve met quite a few people at Stanford with low SATIIs, both of mine were in the 600 range myself. I’ve even heard a story or two of extremely low scores in the 400s. From the way it sounds, SATIIs don’t carry much weight, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Alright thanks for the advice :)

I had the same issue, too. I’m happy to see this thread. I didn’t have nearly enough prep for mine and I did poorly. Hopefully they’ll consider everything else more heavily though. I really want to go to Stanford.

Math II: 620
Chem: 580

I was wondering the same thing. I got a 590 on my Bio Sat II’s, but I’m taking chemistry and math II by the end of January (they said if it gets there in time that they’ll review it). Everything else on my application is pretty solid except for these. Do you think that it might affect my chances?

Mai- I wouldn’t send a lone 590 to Stanford…but if you do well on the chem and math II then you’ll have to if you want to send those.

Mike- My ACT wasn’t great, and I didn’t get 800s or anything with my SAT IIs, but I got accepted. Those scores won’t hurt you and may even help. The scores are in range. Ecs, gpa, etc. are what will probably help determine your admission decision.

I got in with a 780 in chem, 800 in spanish but a 700 in math 2. I’d say anything below 650 is unlikely because 650 is the average for most sat 2 tests. The rest of your app has to be excellent. And by excellent I mean better than those of the average admitted students.

Mai, re: SAT subject tests on 1/28 - You will be deciding where you want your scores sent, before you take the test, on that day. You will not be able to wait and see the results, and then send them out, as you may have before. That’s my understanding of Stanford, Ivies & MIT. FYI, Mr. VC.
