<p>My son is applying for a scholarship for a program to spend the summer in Mongolia with nomad. He really wants to do this and the application only calls for letters of recommendation (which are great) a transcript and an essay, 100-250 words long "Why do you wish to participate". </p>
<p>It seems to me like the essay is going to count heavily and I am not sure how good it is.</p>
<p>If someone would look it over and give suggestions -- he would greatly appreciate it. We are mailing it later today, since the post office will be closed January 2nd.</p>
