okay okay..

step 1 are you applyin for fin. aid?..if yes then u have a 50-50 chance..if no ..proceed to step 2
step 2 you are in congratulations

On paper, you easily fit the Oberlin bill. Yes, Oberlin is an elite LAC, but they want diversity in their student body, interesting and compassionate kids.

While your GPA, scores, and academic achivements are excellent, your extracurriculars seem all over the places. I can kind of draw your interests as being musical/drama ones, but they are overshadowed by the other overwhelming amount of ECs.

Make your resume more concise, focused, and to the point. List after list of academic excellence, while impressive, is cumbersome and doesn't really communicate you.

Make yourself an individual to the adcoms!

Builtfordakill: your most recent post gives an erroneous impression. While Oberlin is not entirely need-blind, financial need has NO impact on admissions decisions in about 95% of cases. Only in borderline cases do the people making admissions decisions even know an applicant's financial-aid status. Financial aid status would NEVER make as much difference as you suggest.

i still believe that the financial status has a major impact in the final decision..my understanding is that it serves to filter the large no. of students that are selected from the admissions process and that it's specially true for international applicants.
But again..i'm not an admissions officer..so i wouldn't know...;)..that's just my personal view....

I will be applying for financial aid. I was a little worried by what you said about it so i did a little research, and what i found is that it comes into play when comparing students who are right on the cusp. Im not exactly sure if I am one of those students, but I dont think i am, so im trying not to worry much about that

No, financial status isn't really that big of a deal - it could be a dealbreaker, though. Oberlin's a lot better with the money than many other colleges.

You've got a pretty good chance, OP.
