I currently have a 3.7 GPA, and on my PSAT I got a 192. I am a very competitive ice skater, and I am the vice president of a school club. I have over a hundred community service hours. I take honors and AP classes and I am in the running start program, so I would start off college as a junior. I am also an in state student, I know that reduces my chances a little bit. My dad is white and my mom is asian, so I could mark either as my race. Could you please estimate my chances of getting into the University of Washington? Thanks a bunch!

Any specific facts, not just general ones? Right now, you seem like the average UW applicant :|

What specific facts are you looking for? I have taken 4 AP classes, I’ve qualified for national level skating competitions, I participate in UW’s YEOC program, I play flute and piano… Could you give me any advice for what I can do during this next year to make me above an average applicant? I am trying to start a charity program to help challenged kids be able to skate, and I might include that on my application if I start it. I may also compete in worlds next year for skating, if that helps at all in the extracurricular area.
Thank you for your reply!

Oh, I thought you were a Senior who submitted the app already :P.

Your ecs are good, but I wouldn’t trust your PSAT score that much (I did better on the actual then the PSAT). I would try to get at least 2000 and maintain your current GPA (I’m assuming it’s uw GPA).

Based on the other stuff you added in your second post, you are a strong applicant. Remember to work hard on the essays too!

Thank you so much for your input!

You seem like a great applicant to the UW. Running start will really help you. I’m a running start student applying to udub this year too.
