Could you take Geometry over the summer for a Texas public school?

I am entering my Freshman year at a private school. I took the Algebra 1 Staar (Texas public school standardized test) test and mastered it, but my high school credits were thrown in the trash because I am going to be attending a private school for my freshman year. I took the Algebra 1 private school test, but I bombed it because I didn’t know about the test until a couple of hours before the test. It was the middle of the summer and I could not use a calculator or a formula sheet, and I could not retake it. So this year I am taking Pre-Ap Algebra 1, (Since I did the school’s entry test and did not bomb that) and I am currently planning on transferring to public school next year. If over the course of this year and next summer I took a geometry course online and passed (or mastered it, depending on possible requirements) I was wondering if I could use those credits to take Algebra 2 my sophomore year at the public school. I also wish I could transfer to public school this year, (My algebra credits would be taken there) however school starts in a week and my parents have already bought me a laptop, paid my tuition, and purchased the uniforms.

It depends from district to district whether they accept credits for courses taken over the summer. You should go to the public school districts page and look at their policies on classes taken over the summer.

This is between you and your parents, and you and the school you attend.

Your question is really something to look up or ask at the public school you would be attending. We probably have different policies but the only policy that really would matter is the policy at the school you will be going to as perhaps try emailing guidance at the public school you would be switch to.
