COUN 100/Registering for classes @ De Anza

For continuing students, registration starts Jul 24. Since I signed up for Counseling 100 (as they require you to) during the summer does that make me a continuing student for the fall?

Also, my orientation isn't until August 18-21. Even though they say you get priority registration, wouldn't a lot of my classes be gone by then? If I am a continuing student could I just go register myself so I can be sure to get the class I want?

And thirdly, do I need to have the placement test results before I register for classes? (Hopefully that one didn't sound too dumb).

Thanks to anyone if you can help. :)

im not sure about coun but in one of my summer classes right now at de anza, some chick told me about her friend who just went into calc 1a without taking placement test, math49a,b, AP Calc test in high school lol i wonder if you REALLY need to take the class you place into

Should find out :O

Yeah I think you need the results. I need the results from my ap tests to register.

Also just think about it, if everyone is required to take coun 100, then everyone would get priority. so there would be no point to that. I think your date is july 31 or somewhere around there.

I haven't registered for Coun 100 and don't plan to. My fall registration date is 7/30. Reaaallly doubt that they are going to stop me from taking classes.

Does anyone know if its possible to retake the placement test? I placed into 49B but I'm going to try to sign for Calc.

ur lucky, my reg date is 8/4... but counselor said it goes by units taken at DA, so i guess i only have 1 quarter here (summer) :(

180 days to retake test
counselor said the system wont let u add Math 1A if u placed into 49B (i placed in 49b as well)

That sucks man. I guess I can go try to retake the test at Foothill. If I can't get into Calc I'm going to end up having to take Calc B and Stats in one quarter. Ick.

On the bright side (for you) a lot of people drop out of Math 49B early (or at least from the classes with bad teachers). You could crash one of those classes if you really need to.

Yeah, that only proves that there are A LOT of bad teachers for pre-calc though (which there are). I think the best one out of like 6 on ratemyprofessor for De Anza Math 49B for the upcoming Fall got a 2.1 overall out of 5 lol

Shouldn't be a problem since I know this stuff already (took up to AP calc in HS, but didn't take AP test), but I just hate having bad professors :( I'm sure everyone knows this feeling

only legit cats enroll on the 24th
sorry

more like the peeps who've been at de asia for their whole life
