De Anza Students: Counseling 100 required to sign up for classes???

I've been lazy and stupid.
I see that I've missed the time to register for counseling 100 for Fall 09.
My registration date is this coming Monday, can I still register for classes?
It says new students are "required" to take counseling 100, but can I sign up for classes without it?
If I can sign up for classes without taking coun 100, do I have to take it later?

Urgghh I'm getting a big headache here.

make an appointment or do a drop in with a counselor and they can remove the hold. I went through this my first couple quarters there eventually they stop worrying about it.

lol funny question to ask on these forums. I took that class 2 weeks ago and I don’t have an answer for your question.

Anyway De Anza rules. Yay! >:-o

Yes, you can still take classes before you take the Counseling 100. Just as long as you take Counseling 100 before school starts, you should be fine.

I also signed up for Counseling 100 late. Just make sure you know what classes to take, and relax and take a deep breath :)

I don’t quite get the system.
From what I see from DA school website, both counseling 100 courses start on the day of September 21, which is when fall quarter starts.

I made a giant spreadsheet and figured out all my pre-requisite classes as well as classes that meet IGETC certificate requirement, and signed up for classes.

So orientation that starts on Sept 21 is for students joining for winter qtr?
… makes no sense to me.

On a separate note, I did see another Counseling 100 on the registration system, but it has no instructor name, no days/time schedule(TBA, it reads…).
I can still add it on to my list of courses, it would add the tuition as well, and I noticed the numbers of seats left is going down in an incredibly fast pace; I got nervous and added it as well - but what’s the meaning of ALL THIS  ?

Oh, btw, I loved how the registration system server couldn’t handle anything for a straight 40 minutes after 5:00:00 AM; it was a good-long finger exercise.

I took that class online.
Also, I didn’t take it my first quarter even though they say you must. I took it like 3 quarters into the year… hahaha so I don’t think it matters when you take it. Plus that class should never be full anyways.

super random but it’s weird how ppl at de anza tend to use this site more than other ppl i’ve seen at other CC’s throughout cali. and i been to handful of them… ahaha
look <-------

do you know how many students de anza has? more than some UCs…

“Murphy estimates that the campus will have 24,000 students in the fall, or about 2,000 more than fall 2007.”
