First of all, i applied to those multiple degree progs (BA/MD) medical programs. Those apps are usually in around Dec. 1st.

My counselor wrote me a pretty good rec letter & showed it to me before he sent it.

So anyway, I approached him teh other day, asking about the status of the rec letter for the other schools (NOT MEDICAL...like Ivies and liberal arts colleges)

and hes liek... uhm i thougth that rec letter was for all the school

SO BASCIALY he said sth along the lines of "I would like to comment on why she is a good candidate for your medical school"

But maybe my A$$ is saved because at the end he just said "I would liek to recommend her for your institutions"

CRAP!!!!! AM I SCREWED what do i DO!!!!
thanks SO much guys for any replies!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a perfect example of why student-counselor dialogue should be frequent. My GC wrote two letters of reccomendation. She wrote one for my top-choice school which was very personal because she knows the admissions counselor for our region personally. Then she spliced things from the first one to create the second one which she then sent to the rest of my schools.

I assume schools are going to be very understanding. They know your counselor likely writes only 1 letter for you and then sends it to multiple schools. As long as you are represented well in the letter, it won't matter if the letter accidentally says you are applying to a BA/MD program.

Perhaps you could recommend to your GC that he/she send a follow-up letter to the non-BS/MD schools and explain his/her mistake. That would actually give you an advantage, since you would be in front of their eyes twice.

I don't think so. I think it will just draw attention to the error and to the fact that the student is applying to BA/MD programs. Not a good thing.
