It would be very kind if you could help me with the following questions.

I'm an international student and my counselor doesn't understand some of the common app questions.

Please find below the translations of his questions:

What is the difference between a school report and a transcript?
-is the transcript just grades and part of the school report?
So the school report also contains additional info such as class rank + the transcript?

What does this mean "Is the applicant an IB Diploma Candidate" ?
I know what the International Bachelaureat is (I didn't do it) but what does "candidate" apply to? Candidate for what exactly? Doesn't everybody need a diploma if they want to go to uni?

How would that question translate to non-IB school systems?

I have to file a school report as well as a final report. The final report forces me to upload a transcript. Why? The student has already graduated and the transcript was already uploaded in the school report. Should I just upload the exact same document again? What is the difference between the school report and the final report section?
Maybe I don't fully understand what is meant by transcript. Isn't this the document, which shows all grades during the past two years?

I can't preview the files I upload using firefox. Should they be aspx files? It seems to work with google chrome.

I started a student's application to test the procedure. After submitting the data for "the student" it read "Do not use this form to submit any transcript other than one displaying the student's final year-end grades."

But at that stage I would have already submitted the "school report", "final report" and the "transcript" (difference?). What should I do if the student has already graduated and is doing a Gap Year?

Thank you very much for clarifying these questions

As far as the questions concerning the International Baccalaureate Program: Those who are studying in the International Baccalaureate Program are studying to receive an International Baccalaureate diploma that is different from the standard high school diploma. If you are not an IB participant, then you simply answer “No”, as would anyone who attends a school where the IB program is not offered.

I am an international student as well and my school only has one official transcript. This transcript has all of my grades from 9-12. My counselor will upload that in the School Report section.
I also have O level and A level examinations results and i shall put those in the International Supplement.
The problem is what should i upload in the Mid Year Report form and the Final Report form. Should i use back the same transcript from before?

Hi I know I am about one year later than this thread but I am facing the exact same problems…I don’t know what to attach to my Midyear and Final report (ESPECIALLY SO) because everything else is already submitted with my School report. Is it okay so submit it in without any transcript?
I would truly appreciate anyone’s help! I think I’m going to die of helpless desperation soon Thank you!!! (*My GC is clueless about this whole thing so I’m kinda on my own:(

The midyear report should be sent in after you have your first term grades (semesters or quarters or whatever).

Final report should be sent at the end of the year with your final grades.

If you’re not currently in school I guess it’s all the same?? So it would all be the same transcript. But if you are in school then just submit the school report or whatever, then the midyear report after your transcript gets updated with first term grades, then the final report at the end of the year when you graduate.

I’m not a counselor but this is my understanding, hope it helps!

@napalm2013 Thank you very much for your help!
I have already graduated from school actually (couple of days ago)…I am an international student so my school system is quite different from that of USA’s.
Does the Final report allow us to submit it without any transcripts attached? and if we send in the same transcripts (as attached to the school report) will there be any negative consequences?
Also what is the deadline for the international supplement?

I know these are alot of questions but I am quite confused. Thank you again for all your help! What a wonderful lifesaver!:D
