Countdown to Acceptance Letters

Thank you so much, everyone, this makes me feel a lot better!
Things have been slowly (if not surely) resolving themselves. On a happier note, I had my NMH phone interview today! Very spur of the moment, too, haha, he asked me "Why don't why just talk now?" I was like, sure, sounds wonderful. "Are you sure you can handle my pressure?" Haha, it was very relaxed and fun. I liked it, he was knowledgeable and I really liked how he was a dorm father, a coach of two teams, and very involved with the school. I love that about BS, all the adults are involved somehow, in many ways.

UPDATE on the Andover situation:

Andover has found my english, math, and personal recommendations. They have not found my school report or transcript.

I have been told to resend my candidate statement, personal essays, and parent statement again. I will be doing that tomorrow, after speaking with my mom and rewriting essays and the like.

I have contacted my guidance counselor, and she will be copying the transcript and school profile for me ASAP. I will get the school report to her on Monday, for her recommendation, and she will write that up ASAP, also.

Funny thing is, my interviewer actually suggested that we call another school and ask for a fax of the school report. I decided against it, in any event.

They have my SSAT scores, also. And my interview record. And so I will just send everything that is in my power to send, and get on my counselor... I was reassured that nothing will be counted late as long as it is received by the 9th.

(amazingjasmyn PMed me again. Will she never stop and realize I don't care? Haha)

Oh, and I apologize to anyone on here that I may have become short or angry with, because I literally spent last night in tears. Not too mention I've been fed a lot of waffle over the past few days from every quarter... (Relationship, family, SCHOOL, friends, they all like to spoon-feed me nonsense).

@starcrossed what do you mean by 13 years of high school? do you mean 13 years of school? 5 of high school? also, does that mean you would be repeating senior year?

[/quote]

I mean five years of high school, lol. Sometimes I don't pay attention to what I'm saying. 13th year of school.

No, it's more like just having a PG year -- I'm applying as an 11th grader, but the great part is that 11th grade at my public school (right now) will still count, so it's not like repeating anything!

39 days!!! :) :) :) ahhh i'm holding my breath in anticipation!!!

Ok, I am just gonna say 38 days, even though we still have an half and hour or so, i am excited and dont want someone to beat me :)

38 DAYSSSSSSSSSS

Is anyone here as nervous and extremely scared as me?
This might surprise some people but I like Andover better than Exeter. I'm not sure if it's because of the construction of the buildings or just the whole atmosphere.

Boy, I can't wait until March 10.

i like andover wayyy better.
no offense to any exeter applicants (:

haha! I do too(:
I just felt like I will fit in more in Andover. I'm also afraid that the academics in Exeter might be too hard for me. I'm not really the strongest student and I'm always scared of failing. :\ They said Andover is just a tad different from Exeter.

Andover used to be my top choice, but after my interview I'm not so sure anymore...
Then again, I haven't really numbered my schools by preference. I like them all too much (:

I did not like Andover because of superficial reason- there was construction going on, and the campus was dead on a Saturday morning. Maybe if it hadn't been those two factors at the same time, I'd have loved it. (I also disliked the size... With my luck, I'd get stuck in Abbot Cluster, 0.7 miles away from Commons)

LOL i posted in the wrong thread (i was going to post on saer's but i did this i guess)

andover, exeter, pshh, they're both good schools. let's leave it at that. :D

now great great (yet somehow small) schools like groton. those schools amaze me XD small student body, but extremely successful nevertheless

I dislike small schools. I've been in a >500+ elementary and >400+ high school my entire life. I need a larger school, so all my schools have a student body of 700 or more.

I've been in the same situation as you Saer ...but I don't mind 500+ schools becuase my highschool right now is like 350..

I like smaller schools. I was in elementary I was in a school with 200+ in the grade and only knew the people in my class. Then for middle I moved to a school with about 50-60 in the grade (wow! big difference) I like the size better, I know everyone.

My grade has a grand total of 70 students. There is a huge imbalance of girls to boys (45-50+ girls, I'd say) and that's why I like BS's policy of accepting 50-50 of girls and boys. Keeps it even, haha. And about 10 of us really, really care about our grades and getting out of our small town, and I'm the only one who's doing anything about it! But thats alright. Its a nice enough town, we've got good school facilities and nice enough people. but it's suffocating to a girl with ambition...

The size of the school doesn't matter to me. My current school has 1300 kids, and I love the small schools and large schools alike. I don't really care about the size, but the feeling I get from the school.

I like not so much the smaller or bigger, but the more personal.

I grew up at a school with like...250 people at most. Everyone knew each other. All the teachers knew you. You were in one class for about three years. Then, I went to a middle school eith 700 some kids, and my high school has 1200-1300? The loss of such personal relationships with teachers isn't as drastic in the higher grades, especially after you've gotten to know more of them, but there are so many people in my school that I didn't even know I went to school with. I just don't like it.

I'd like a larger school.
There are 40 kids per grade at my current school :P

37 days! yaaaay

The 11th grade along at my school is 450 people! We probably started out with more, but lots of kids drop out in the long run.

I think I like the idea of a medium school; not too big, not too small. Sounds perfect!

I feel like a weirdo ticking off my countdown every morning, haah! The other day I told this guy in my ap gov't class about it, and he's like "countdown to what?" I had to explain the entire thing, and most of the kids at my school think I'm crazy.

"Why would you want to give up everything you have going for you to go somewhere else and start all over again?"

Boo -- it'll be so worth it if I get in!!
