I feel pretty good about it, at least.</p>
<p>Iām getting all the teacher recommendations in on monday. My goal is doing SPS essay by friday. I have to prepare for the SSAT alsoā¦ I am also taking my time with the online ones and writing them on word and possibly letting my favorite teacher read themā¦ The only thing is if she asks I will just tell her they are for applications to a school and I hope that doesnāt affect recommendations or how much they help me.</p>

<p>My son took the ssat this morning too. He said it was much easier than he thought it would be. I hope heās right. Iād hate to have to shell out another 125.00. Iād rather spend that on the boxed Calvin and Hobbes set I told him Iād get him if he hits his target. I thought the bribe would motivate him to study, but alas, he doesnāt seem to know how to do that.</p>
<p>italianboarder - You may want to wait on teacher recs unless youāve had your teachers in prvious school years. Iāve even seen BS recommend waiting until late Nov./early Dec. That way your teachers will know you better. I think that would still give them plenty of time. Just my opinion thoughā¦</p>

<p>hey guys, about the essays
when should I start writing them? I have looked at the topics, but I havenāt started them AT ALLā¦ Iām definitely procrastinating on both SSAT and apps. I have the ssat in november, and I really think i should get on with the program. when is an ideal time to start on app essays?</p>
<p>Iāve written one of six essays and not a single short answerā¦ Argh.</p>
<p>Iāve written one (well almost one, Iām having issues making it more concise and coming up with a good way to sum it up) and the beginning of another. I havenāt started on short answer yet either. Those shouldnāt be as hard for me as full out essays. I hate making them short though. Iām not a short writer.</p>

I am sitting here for the second hour straight, and while I should do something productive, I donāt. I just wrote up a list of all the different questions I will have to answer (and what school itās for) without repeats, and they are RIDICULOUSLY OBSCURE.</p>

<p>I have written One essay that I plan to use for 4 schoolsā¦ I have sent it to about 2 admissions officers and 3 english teachers. Plus two CC friends, and I am happy that I wonāt have to write 12 essaysā¦ Looks like 7 now. And a short answer.</p>
<p>My friends have already made a deal with me that we are meeting at one girlās house for dinner AND two of my best friends are coming home from college for the weekend to open my letters with me. Iām very happy about that partā¦ They told me they wonāt let me go unless I open the letters with themā¦ Iām still happy that we are going to do it like that.</p>

My friends are kind of envious about my decision to apply- they want to get out of our small town, but couldnāt leave their friends/school/athletics/family. So they are kind of likeā¦ Yay! It looks so amazingā¦ Please get in so we can keep in touch!
But Iām only writing 3 essaysā¦ 1 essay for both Exeter and Choate, another essay for Exeter, and then a third for Andover.</p>
<p>Iām stuck between writing on the matter I once knew for sure but donāt anymore (religion) and writing an autobiography, for Andover. Exeter and Choate, Iāve written about a difficult experience that I overcame through the words of an amazing coach. My second Exeter essayā¦ ugh. I have no clue. Probably between a topic I am passionate about (volleyball) and my favorite word (I donāt even have one!!)</p>
<p>Andover essay was the easiest for me. Just have to write one and turn in one from english class. All my english essays get good grades so I choice my most unique one. Hopefully they like itā¦</p>
<p>You can now go online and see if you got accepted or notā¦as long as you sign inā¦haha last year my dad would not give me the password becasue he thought i would try and see the results in school and if i did not get in i would have an emotional break downā¦haha MARCH 10 LONGEST DAY EVER!</p>
