No, not really, but Feb 10th when the ID decisions come out

personally, I think I'm going to be rejected because this was the first app I sent out. I didnt really work on my essays that much and my resume wasnt that polished. but, then again, the gods may look favorable at my app

I really don't know what to expect for my decision... I'm trying to remain optimistic, but then again I don't want to expect too much and be disapponted later. I just wish I worked harder on the box question.

sempitern555, i know what you mean... My other college essays that had later deadlines were better in quality. To make the matter worse, my first semester senior grades showed a downward trend, even though the weighted GPA is slightly decent. I'm expecting a rejection >_<

Will Rice even receive the first semester grades in time to consider them in the application process? I know of many high schools where their first semester ends mid to late January. The counselors need to process the grades, and then mail them out, which takes some time, and Rice is supposed to notify us before February 10.

yes, good luck to everyone! I desperately desperately want it to be Feb 10th NOW. : / I figure that it'll take forever for my decision to reach me here in Asia tho...

Rice hasn't really been consistent with their email and envelope decisions....last year (for ED), the email came before the envelope.....this year, the envelope came first. my decision came on dec. 11th...which was 4 days premature. I personally think that there's no way to predict when your decision will come. It can come any time starting as early as Feb. 7.

Haha, I haven't gotten to that point.. yet. :p

For the A scale you mentioned earlier, my teachers give As based on their own scales. For some teachers, an A is given for 90-100 (even 89.5), and for others, an A is for 93-99, and an A+ i sfor 100+. Other teachers might even give an A- for a 88.9%. It really varies at my school.

Yeah.. at my school the A scale is 93-100 for everything. Its annoying because if I don't get an A its always a 91-92 instead, which would be an A anywhere else... hope that little detail is considered.
