Countdown to DECISION DAY!!!

You guys think we’ll get an update this week as to the specific date decisions are released?

god, i hope so. i need a concrete date to look forward to.

You guys, it might be next week.
Ahhhhhhhh!!!

i have a freak out at least once a day about this. asldkjgalkdjg.

can’t believe it’s almost december…

What is the predicted ED acceptance rate this year, anyone?

around 20%?

for CC atleast SEAS is probably a tad higher

I’m more nervous than ever because my November SAT Test Center messed up somehow and my Subject Test scores aren’t available yet, so I’m worried Columbia won’t get them in time to complete their evaluation of my ED application =(

So yes, I’m going off for a trip outside the city on the 15th and I don’t intend to check my mail until I’m back =P

sigh

Just to make sure, we were supposed to send in ALL of the SAT scores we have, right? Because I had some sucky SAT Subject Test scores, but I had two good ones, so I was wondering if they considered only those two good scores or if they hold it against you if you got a bad score earlier. Anybody know?

yeah, columbia said they dont accept score choice so you have to send all scores.

As far as I understand, they’ll only look at your highest scores. If they do see your other scores, it really shouldn’t impact the final verdict that much.

Roughly 9 days till D-day.

If you look on the Cornell board, they already have a confirmed date for Thursday the 10th. Maybe one of us should try contacting a Columbia rep and asking if there is a confirmed date yet.

Wow! Yes we definitely should… I’m anxious!

This is what they sent back to me when I asked about the date:

"Columbia will send you an email in mid-December alerting you that your decision is available to read online. In the email will be a link and, from there, you will log into a secure site and check your decision. "

That is insane. So we won’t know in advance what day it will be released, we just have to keep checking our mails everyday. that’s horrid. :|

If you look at last year’s College Confidential thread for Columbia ED they received an e-mail two days before the decisions were posted.

is anyone else completely freaking out? im unable to focus on anything else…

transparenteye, I am too. This is horrible. For a while I was relatively confident that whatever happens is happening for a reason, and that if I don’t get in it means Columbia wasn’t the right place for me. But now I know that I really don’t want to go anywhere else, and I’m getting more and more worried that I’ll get rejected. I just wish I could find out now and get it over with.

I feel the exact same way raychacha. I look at all the colleges on my list and just pick out everything wrong with them whether it is the atmosphere, the size, etc. There are no other schools I truly love, and Columbia is just absolutely perfect in my opinion. There are also 7 people applying ED from my high school, so the competition is insane. Where else is everyone going to apply if they get rejected?
