@onthewestfence Oh yes. We ourselves have a FA request, so we had to file very early. Never in my life had a filed a tax return in January, but history was made in 2016. Thanks! I hope we do have choices on M10…
Does anyone know if you live in Texas, will you still receive notice on time from a school like Andover? Or should you be prepared to get yours later?
Andover generally makes sure you get notification of some sort on March 10th, even if the physical letter cannot reach due to unforeseen circumstances. I remember the last 2 years, the Admissions staff has called us(local day students), into the admissions office during spring break to call families of admitted students to tell them the good news.
@Julie0635, three years ago, when the day arrived, which was on a weekend, I remember that my daughter received a Fed Ex envelope from Andover, and we live in California. So, as @MABlue stated, I concur that Andover is great about letting their new class of students know about their acceptances. :)>-
A piece of advice for peace…
Don’t think too much of admission. There is not much you can do after you submitted the application.
So, enjoy the rest of your senior year in the middle school as much as you can. It will never come back again.
I am finding it hard to concentrate during the day - this is my one and only shot at getting to a school that I WANT to go to - I keep imagining seeing waitlist, reject. Will be a very long month
Unfortunately, there has been nothing to enjoy in eighth grade as of late. It’s been difficult to ignore feelings of uncertainty breathing down my neck.
Try reading something that let you worry something else, like meaning of life. Read Herman Hesse or Andre Gide. Or read Luise Rinser’s Nina. I enjoyed those at your age. And I resent that commonly suggested youth books written by American authors are not as much substantial. A bigger and more meaningful problem may help you look beyond a petty problem such as M10.
Or get yourself booted out of one long-term EC over trying to resolve an occasional scheduling conflict with another long-term EC. Do that 3 months before graduation, and you will have a lot to keep your mind occupied until M10 and beyond. I truly hope BS teachers are more understanding and EC schedules more coordinated than DD’s current ones. That’s definitely something we will be asking during revisits, if we get any.
@onthewestfence GoatKid was admitted as a day student with 55% FA, which is very generous. The school doesn’t have a huge endowment and does not offer large FA packages.
