Country Boy Looking At An Ivy League Education!

<p>Hello there my name is Cory and I attend a very small rural school in north texas. I have many safeties and match schools picked out but I'm curiously what ya'll see as maybe a shot at Yale, Brown, Penn or if its even worth applying? Thanks ahead of time. I have been told they were great! it was over the influence of politics and public speaking (in church and speeches etc.) on my life and my choices including debate. Great writing skills I think?</p>

My math teacher has written me a superb!recommendation, it even surprised me. My physic's and biology teacher have written amazing recs! My english teachers is slightly above average. And my counselors I do not know</p>

<p>It’s always worth applying! By the way, your GPA is probably higher than 3.73. You have way too many A’s and not enough B’s for it to be that low. </p>

<p>I’d say you have a decent chance. The one weakness I see on your application is your rank. Sure, you’re number 3, but in a class size of 46. It won’t really hurt your too much, but it’s not majorly impressive compared to other people who will be applying (e.g. valedictorians in class sizes of 400+)</p>

<p>I suggest taking two Subject Tests. Even though you have the ACT with Writing, these schools also recommend you take two Subjects even if it isn’t required. It just helps them to understand your strengths in your areas of interest. I recommend the US History, World History, or Literature tests if you plan on pursuing politics and law.</p>
