couple questions bout ucsd

first, is it harder to get in if you apply under say...bio compared to if you apply as a math major?
I m having a hard time deciding between these two majors. So the ease of admission may help break the dilemma.

Second, what differences are there between the six college? I mean sure they state in the philosophy blah blah blah... But seriously, is there any REAL difference like different opportunities or difference quality of like etc?

Third and lastly, last year the cut off for the comp review score was like 7400 (or so I heard) By how much it is likely to increase this year?

Thanks in advance

I doubt they will take your intended major into account during admissions, since many people will change their major at least once during the course of their college career.

Each college has its own themes and thus "vision." As a result, General Education requirements are different at each of the six Colleges.

does their state philosophies reflect the general ed requirements? eg. sixth college emphasizes technology in the 21 century. So for sixth college, there'll be more computer and tech classes for general ed? am I right to say so?

Squarehead, my sister is a 3rd year (or is going to be next month) at UCSD. She is in Thurgood Marshall College and her first and second year she had to take courses relating to race relations, sociology, multiculturalism, etc. On the other hand, Eleanor Roosevelt College requires courses in writing, philosophy, history, and religion. And I believe Revelle College is the most liberal arts-esque of the six with courses in the humanities.

Here's a site with some general info about each college:

I'm sure you can check out UCSD's website for more specific course requirements.
