Course Listings

Hey everyone. So I've been looking through the Fall 2011 course catalogue a lot because I'm set to register at the first ArtSci weekend from June 16-18. Anyways, I have a couple of questions.

What is the difference between a 200 level course and a 2000 level course, or a 300 level course and 3000 level course?

As far as class schedules, would it be imprudent to sign up for a course that goes from 9:00-10:00 and then 10:00-11:30 back to back? I'm assuming making the beginning of class for the second course would be difficult.

For any current WashU students who have taken FOCUS groups, how much of a workload are they? What are they like compared to Freshman Seminars?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help!

1) Nothing
2) Classes start 7 mins after the specified time start period, so back to back classes are fine…you don’t want random 30 min and 1 hour breaks in the middle (unless the courses are opposite sides of campus, i.e. Brauer to Olin, then it takes like 15 mins to cross campus and is up to you if you want to be 8 mins late each class)
Will start 10 mins after the hour in 2012.

So for your case
9:00 - 10:00 and 10:00-11:30 is really
9:07 - 10:00 and 10:07-11:30

Thank you so much! That was definitely helpful
