Course Load.

So I have been back in school now for almost one semester after a really long break. I am fortunate to be attending a really good school, way better than anything I have ever attended in the past, but as described in previous posts, the work load is incredible. I started back at school this term with only 12 credits (four classes) and it has been a struggle. If I finish with a 3.5 I will be surprised.
Anyway, my question is: is taking only 12 credits a term going to make me look to wimpy? In the past I have taken 15, but not at this school.
My adviser and others have suggested that 12 is just fine and that is what most students do. Better to have a good gpa with 12 than a crappy one with 15 credits. This is assuming I can show that I've dealt with 2+ science courses concurrently (which will start next term).
I just wanted to get some of your feedback: is 12 credits enough?

Thanks

Whatever's average at your school is good enough. One semester or two at a higher level is recommended, but there's no need to do that all the time.
