<p>Hi, I am really excited to be a Freshmen at NYU, and I was hoping you guys, particularly current sophomores/juniors, could give some feedback/insight on my class registration.</p>

<li><p>I balanced my classes such that I have two classes on Mon, Wed and two classes on Tues, Thurs. However one down time is that my classes are 15 minutes apart. Is that too little time to get to place to place? I'm used to high school were breaks between classes were 5 - 10minutes max. Is a 15minute break going to be bothersome later on, such as during finals week?</p></li>

<p>Could someone who had taken a class under any of them during freshmen year, or had heard of them comment on this, particularly in terms of work load and grading?</p>

<li><p>15 minutes is typically plenty of time since most buildings are around Washington Sq. However I did have a single semester where one of my recitations was in union square once a week which was about a 15 minute walk back down to washington sq for my next class. You should definitely get used to not having breaks between classes because it is inevitable that you will have to have classes back to back. The 15 min break between finals is going to be bothersome but it’s something you have to get used to for finals. You could arrange your schedule according to the final exam times, however sometimes the Professor will declare new exam times.</p></li>
<li><p>Andre Adler is a great professor. I had him for Nat Sci 1: How Things Work. He’s a nice and funny guy who loves what he teaches. He uses iclicker and posts a few clicker questions every class on the projector screen. They are mult. choice and are typically pretty easy. He awards 1/8 point of extra credit for every correct answer. Two exams are 40 multiple choice. The weekly labs depend on the TA but from my experience it was ridiculously easy. Basically you just match the red wire with the red clips and follow the manual. There was a quiz after every lab but they were easy.</p></li>

<p>I took Ulfers for ConWest: Antiquities and the 19th Century. He is a pretty old guy but very nice. He is passionate in his lectures despite knowing that half the class is asleep. There were 2 papers and 2 exams.</p>

<p>AoDay, is Prof. Ulfers generally a strict grader? Is attendance or participation crucial in terms of his grading? How lenient is he in essays and assignments? </p>
<p>As for Prof Ulfers, Adler and Jordan - how hard is it to earn an A in their classes?</p>
<p>Sorry, I transferred, so I only took a handful of MAP classes here. There are a few other freshman and upperclassmen floating around who could probably answer your question about ConWest.</p>
<p>My daughter had Juan Corradi for ConWest. I can’t give you many details but I know she thought the course was interesting and that Corradi was a very engaging instructor. I’m pretty sure she got an “A”.</p>
<p>As you guys are posting, I also check them out in ratemyprofessors.com as well as the CAS website course evaluation. It seems like they are all such good professors, hence why I’m having a hard time choosing! </p>
<p>Any more feedback on any other profs will be greatly appreciated!</p>
<p>In college the Professors usually don’t grade your papers and exams, it is up to the teaching assistants. They typically change every semester although there are usually a few who continue to TA every year.</p>
