I think taking physics first is actually really good... it helps with chemistry, and chemistry helps with biology, so personally I think physics-chem-bio is the best...haha.
About course credits, you can have more than 5, it just has to be less than 6. This is not including sports (I don't know why sports doesn't count as a credit when signing up...). So for example, right now as a Lower I'm taking Bio, Chem, English, Math, Spanish, and then I'm taking chamber orchestra, which is 2/3 credits. If you want to take more classes/music lessons, you can audit them. (I'm auditing music lessons and chamber music).
For preps/new lowers, you can have 6 credits because you're taking health, which is 1/3 credit. (so ex: 2/3 music and 1/3 health).

And I think they're really flexible about classes... I know someone who didn't take science prep year (doubled in language instead). Electives can be anything you want to take: bio, art, music theory, history, religion, french, etc

What school are you attending, tuesday air?

blairt, i just want to get physics out of the way. I've taken high school physics/chemistry but I haven't taken high school biology.

redpride11, I'm attending exeter!

Oh, ok. Make sure you do take biology though. You don't know how important it is until you learn it. Esp. the ecology and environmental aspects of it.

A lot of kids choose to take bio first year because physics involves a lot of math, and students sometimes find physics easier after finishing a year of algebra at Exeter. If you are a strong math student already, you should have no problem with taking physics prep year.

physics B requires trigonometry, and physics C requires calculus... have you taken trigonometry and Algebra II and geometry?

I've taken trigonometry with geometry and am taking Algebra II next year. I think I'm going to be alright with Intro Physics next year.

has anyone gotten any placement tests besides physics?

I go to Exeter, redpride11 :)

another reason to choose bio first is if you really want to concentrate on physics. In 10th grade Exeter offers an advanced version of the elementary physics in 9th grade.

I got my math placement test. By the way, I love biology and I just want to get Physics out of the way.

take bio your prep year! its hard, but lower/upper bio is much harder, and its required that you take it at some point.
