Anyone else here trying to go on with their life before M9/M10 and finding it really really really hard? I'm signing up for my sophmore courses because we have to do this week (of all weeks) and when my guidance counselor told me my courseload as of now, all I could think of was:

In two days I'll know. In two days I won't have to stress about whether to take both AP Bio and AP World History blah blah blah. M9 M9 M9 M9

Argh! I shudder to think of my mental state during College Admissions if this is how pitiful i am for prep high school admissions.

asdfghjkl;'kjhgf course selection drove me crazy as well

M9 and I won’t have to have the dreaded schedule discussion with my guidance counselor

Freshman year is going to kill me. I want to do Orchestra as my elective, but parents are pushing me to do an academic duo with Geometry Honors and Algebra II Honors. And we all know I can’t see the difference between a slope-point equation and a slope-intercept equation.

Most colleges don’t release decision letters all at once. For instance, I recieved my first college decision letter just 2-3 weeks after submitting the application to that school. So, depending on which colleges you apply to, don’t worry about the college admissions process. It doesn’t seem to be any worse than prep school admissions. Good thing I never went to a prep school; admissions to them sounds like a dreadful experience.

Hahaha that’s relieving!!

If I stay and spend tenth grade at my high school that means:
AP Calc AB
AP Physics B
AP Spanish
AP Art History
AP World…
Honors English
and a bunch of other pointless classes.

Do you know, from reading all these posts I gather it must be quite horrible applying to prep schools. Two years ago, I thought I wanted to do my senior year or a PG at Exeter, but I never applied. The process sure would’ve driven me crazy.
College admissions aren’t so bad, unless, of course, you want to get into Harvard or somewhere else with a single-digit acceptance rate, in which case may god have mercy on your soul
But hey, at least Harvard doesn’t require handwritten essays! That one was a nightmare for a friend who applied to Exeter (I’m waking him up at 6 on Saturday just to annoy him) because his handwriting’s awful.

Good luck everyone!

I had to beg my school for recommendations; it was horrible :/

@AmbiD77: My principal didn’t even know me, and I had to ask repeatedly for him to even consider giving me a recommendation.

PublicSchoolProblems xD

@AmbiD77: Haha, good one!

This all sounds so sad :(. My principal knows me because my older brother went to the school and my mom is involved and my teachers were happy to do recommendations because they love me so much haha.

The rest of my teachers were all falling over to do my recommendations. My English teacher loves loves loves me as a student, and my Math teacher knows that I’ve been trying my best (I go in early every day for extra-help sessions) My coach has known me for years, so the recommendation from there was glowing.

All is not bad! :)

That’s great! But yeah since you’re in middle school, then you wouldn’t go to that school next year anyway, so they probably don’t mind helping you go somewhere great.

Hahaha, good point. I keep forgetting that some of us are in high school already! kicks self

Hahaha don’t worry GoldenRatio, I forget I’m in high school sometimes xD

LOL! Sometimes I forget I’m 14. I still think I’m 9 and in fourth grade, writing up my first ever historical fiction short story…XD

HAHAHA I forgot I was 14 yesterday… I just turned 14 a couple of months ago, and sometimes when people ask I say I’m 12… don’t judge me xD
