Are the incoming freshman expected to register for courses by June 9th (or whenever) without guidance? Anyone else confused about this process? And the NYU website said that our advisors would help with course selection at orientation, but wouldn't that be too late (at least for the June 9th registration)?

I looked up Calculus for the course registration thing and there were so many different classes and so many different teachers and I guess we have to pick a random teacher and hope for the best...

I assume all those scheduled with F06 or S07 are requirements for us. But why is the "Advanced College Essay" and "Business & Its Publics" listed in the same category? Do we take one or the other? Or do they together count as one course?

Unless your explorations program specifies a linked course, you register normally. If you are in one that a special course, then you will recieve an email that gives you the call number and access code. You can't register for those classes unless you have the access code. While these classes are not mandatory, they are strongly recommended. Therefore, they request that you base your schedule around the specific class. Of course, under special circumstances (school-specific requirements or scheduling conflicts), you can just take whatever class you want.

Thanks a lot, Kyang. When do you find out if you are in Explorations or not? I applied but have not yet heard word, I know housing notification is August 1.

Any chance I will know before regestration on Wednesday?
