So i was just wondering when registering for classes, do most people get their first choice or is it really competitive?

What sorts of courses are you considering? Many capped courses will have been filled by older students, but a large number of Brown’s courses are uncapped. I’ve never been unable to get a course I wanted because of other people registering before me, though I know, particularly freshman year, it does happen.

It’s extremely rare in non-upper level seminars/FYS for a student not to get in a course with the exception of intro writing courses where sections do fill up. Generally if you show up and get on a waiting list and you’re persistant t shouldn’t be a problem.
