Course Requirements

I applied EA to Georgia Tech, and I was pretty confident about my chance of getting in....
until today....

So I just went to GT website, and found out that

*"Required Courses
Entering students are required to meet the minimum course requirements set by the University System of Georgia as outlined below. Please be aware that ALL courses taken in these areas will be factored into a student's GPA, even those beyond the minimum requirements.

English - 4 Units
Math - 4 Units
Science - 4 Units (for students graduating from high school in 2012 and beyond)
Social Science - 3 Units
Foreign Language - 2 Units"*

the minimum classes for science is 4 units!!!!!
I'm freaking out because I took history instead of science in my senior year, and as a total
I only have 3 units of science.

My question is, will this affect my chance of getting in?
If I took 3 years of science WITH labs for each, will that cover the 1 credit I didn't take?

I'm having like a nervous breakdown right now :(

I don’t know about for freshmen, but as a transfer in order to be admitted you must meet all of the minimum course requirements for transfer students and under no circumstances will you be admitted if you haven’t. Based on that quote, it doesn’t sound good if you only have 3 science courses. Are you a senior in HS? Does the application ask you which courses you are planning to take this spring? Can’t you take another science course in the spring?

There’s always RETP. It’s a great program and may save you money. I know people get really excited to go to a big school as a freshman only to get swept up in the transition. I think it’s easy as a freshman to put social pressures above academic pressures when you first get to a big school like Tech and are so young. I imagine this is a factor in why transfer students have higher GPAs upon graduation, on average, than students who entered as freshmen.

If you don’t get into Tech, it’s not the end of the world, and you have RETP as a backup with guaranteed admission to Tech later.

I got this off their website:
