Hi! I am an incoming freshmen in the McCombs School of Business, I have started planning my schedule and wanted to hear from y'all what you think about it including difficulty, professor choices, and class choices. Thanks!

SOC 302 (Intro to Sociology)- Regnerus
ANT 301 (Physical Anthropology)- Reed
ARC 308 (Architecture and Society)- Speck
ECO 304K (Microeconomics)- Hamermesh
UGS 302 (Ethics and Business)- Cox
BA101 -Ehrisman

I have already completed the needed Calculus for McCombs.

FYI…BA 101 is only offered in the Fall to those who are transfer or BHP students. “Regular” McCombs students take BA 101 in the Spring of their freshman year. As to the questions regarding professors, check MyEdu. The reviews there seem to be a fair assessment of the professors and gives grade distributions as well. Also, do a search of this forum for Econ–you’ll see Hamermesh noted.

So far you have two of the best professors UT has to offer.

Hammermesh is a famous economist and his class will be tough, but it will lay a wonderful foundation of microeconomics.

Speck is another very good professor, one of UT’s architecture legends.

These two classes probably won’t be “easy” but these professors are great.
