Course schedule! Need help!

So I am a junior and I am a really hard worker. At my school there is a limit of three honors/AP classes every year unless you appeal to the board of directors for an exception. My sophomore year I did that and took Honors English, Honors spanish 3, Honors Pre-calc, and Honors Chemistry. English last year was really stressful and felt like a battle to get through even though I got one of the highest grades (BUT it was still really hard)...SO my junior year i decided to take just AP calc, AP spanish 4, and AP Bio instead of appealing for 4 honors/ap and taking honors english too.
So I planned to take some self study AP classes to supplement the ones in school.

Will not taking the four honors (the honors english) inhibit my chances of getting into an IVY league school?
(this is also assuming that I am somewhat average in extra-cirriculars--not having saved orphans or won national awards).

If your school has a cap, that’s a great reason not to take 4, even though you can do so by appeal. How many take 4 will be the real question, as you will be rated against your classmates. If it’s a rare thing, then you’ll be fine. And even if it’s common, and you feel better about not having that stress load, go with that.

As for Ivies, don’t worry about it. If you had to take 4 to make it to Ivy, but crashed and burned along the way, then you weren’t going to make it anyway. There are plenty of near Ivies you’ll do fine at as well, if it comes down to that.
