Hi,
I submitted my USC app a few weeks ago. I entered my high school courses correctly, but I just noticed that there was an “other courses” section that you can put middle school grades that are on your transcript. I took two middle school classes that are on my transcript, but did not put them in the section as I didn’t know it existed. Would I be better off calling USC to say I forgot to add them or is it better just to leave it as they get my official transcript anyways?
Thank you all so much, I’m just nervous if this will affect my chances.
Were they Algebra and/or Geometry or a foreign language?
Don’t sweat not having them on there, they will see them on your transcript. And they know if you are in Algebra II, you didn’t get there without Algebra I, that kind of thing. But you could email your admissions advisor with the info on the classes rather than call. In writing is better.
Thank you so much @cadreamin . It is integrated I (a common core math class like algebra) and also a Spanish class. I was planning on calling to see if I could ask without giving my name but if email is better I’ll do that.
It’s not a big deal at all. I assume you had higher levels of math and Spanish after that, so they will know that too. But it never hurts to reach out to your admissions advisor. I wouldn’t count on the people answering the phones to note it for you, only your admission advisor would do that, but it is certainly ok to call them and ask if it is necessary to email your advisor. Or just email him/her. “Hi, I submitted my USC application a few weeks ago, and realized I did not include Math xxx and Spanish I on my list of classes. I took these courses in middle school and in hindsight, probably should have included them on my application. I wanted to be sure USC has this information and hope it is ok that I emailed you with it.” …Thanks/Best/…etc.
I chuckled about you calling and not giving your name - everyone feels that way! But it is silly, they are there to help applicants. I think people imagine them sitting there answering phones with a big black marker in their hands, and when someone calls and asks “a stupid” question they put a big X across the application. Not so! It is ok to have questions - it shows you are engaged and involved in your application. It’s ok, really it is. Good luck!
Thank you so much @CADREAMIN !
