Hi, I'm thinking of taking a summer course at my state university. will Duke accept this for credit? let's say I take Chemistry II at my state university. Then can i move onto Chemistry III (if there is such a thing) or just go to organic when I get to Duke?

you'd have to clear that with the chem department. I'm not sure what the procedure is like for incoming students, but when you want to transfer credit after your freshman year, you have to get a form signed by the head of whichever department the course is in.

(I feel like there was a thread asking this last year, so you may want to check the archives and see what the response was then)

Well, Last year I remember there were a few requirements that must be satisfied before the Duke will consider transfer credits at all for incoming freshmen.

1). Must be taken after the start of junior year of high school
2). Must be taken at a campus of the university
3). Class must be competitive and open to all matriculated degree students

That's all I can recall, there might be a minimum grade requirement too but I can't think of it off the top of my head.
