Covid vaccines roll outs in your state or location

I had my second shot in early February. I believe I did give my insurance info. I have seen nothing for an EOB about either shot.

OTOH, I had a “free” covid test. That was submitted to my insurance and the balance was $9. I paid it…but I was told at the site that the whole thing was free and the state would be covering any balance insurance didn’t.

I just check my BCBS statements. My husband and I were vaccinated at Riteaid. We were not charged at all.

We’ve already hit our yearly out of pocket :scream:so I may not have noticed. But we do not have any charges. To us or our insurer

Son has given me the go ahead to keep an eye on two vaccine locations (both medical facilities) for available appointments while waiting to see if he hears from the two waitlists he’s on. So I can feel useful and hunt at odd hours.

Reporting from the federal mass vaxx site in WA: it a well-oiled machine! The shot felt like a mosquito bite. The young nurse administering it said, “Oh we got a lot of practice!” Lol. We drove in an hour early, but no one asked us for the appointment time. The person at the gate confirmed our names and got us checked in, no insurance information was needed. It took us about 45 minutes from the time we entered the gate to the exit (and that included the mandatory 15 min wait). The wineries just south of the site are busy. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

@JustaMom5465 , thanks! I told my son if there’s a problem blame it on his got-too-much-time-on-his-hands dad!

I figure it works because if a CVS location only has a few slots open, it makes no sense to change website to reflect appts that will only be around for a few minutes.

Yep…shot felt almost like they forgot to give me the shot…until about 8 hours later…

Hope you continue to feel good!

Denver public schools did a clinic today for 16+ students and the news said they also vaccinated a few parents with left over vaccine too.

The town one town over from ours did three vaccination clinics for students in their town who were over age 16. Parents had to come to sign a consent. The clinics were Wednesday, Friday and today. This is an area with a lower %age of vaccinated folks…so they are trying hard to reach out.

Thanks! Feeling fine today. Mr. did not feel anything until this morning. I got a little achy spot late last night… we both think it feels like a little bruise. No painkillers needed so far. We are planning our next vaccine tourism outing, but I gather that there could be more serious reactions after a second dose, so we will do the tourism part first, then get the shots and get the heck outta there!

Woo hoo -just nabbed son an appointment for Sunday afternoon at Seattle Children’s Hospital. :grinning: Woke up, went to their web site, a handful of appointments showed up. I was barely awake but got him scheduled! It’s only about a 17-20 minute drive for him. They’re doing Pfizer so he should be fully vaccinated by the end of May.

Availability of appointments seems to have improved here in MA despite eligibility opening up to everyone last week. This morning I booked an appointment for my son who is coming home from college this weekend and had no trouble getting him in at a relatively convenient CVS.

Still zero availability here in the greater Seattle area. Plenty of appointments though if you are willing to drive 2-3 hours.

Both kids who just became eligible here in MA got appts at CVS, one Monday and one yesterday. Both got into the portal through other states and found openings in MA. Both got vaccinated. D had sweats and felt lousy yesterday. S has sore arm and intermittent headaches. Feeling crappy for one day beats getting COVID in my book.

Seems a bit easier to get slots at CVS now. I wonder what’s going on at the mass vax sites.

I think we’re about at the tipping point in NJ where there are more appointments than those willing to fill them. 16+ became eligible as of Monday and d20 reports her friends have all been able to easily schedule appointments for the next day or so.

There’s a clinic in Lakewood / Pierce Co. that is now offering Pfizer (3) days a week. Not sure how quickly they fill, but the notice said they also reserve 50 spots per day for walk-ups.

Out local hospital opened a new center in an empty store at a local mall. I took my D there yesterday and it was very well marked and very efficient. 21 minutes from parking to being back in the car, including the 15 minute waiting period.

They were cranking through at least 75 an hour. I had made her appointment 3 weeks ago, and it was the first date available. I look today and there are slots available every day, including 30 minutes from now.

I fear they’ve scaled up just as demand is falling. If Bloomberg’s data is correct, there has been a drastic fall off in the last 3-4 days.

If we’re reaching a point where everyone who wants one can get one, it may be time - in 40-45 days to allow for 28 days between doses plus 14 days to be effective - to open everything up. With blanket immunity to businesses and others from any liability from folks demanding the freedom to get sick and die.

July 4 would be a good date.

Our small local pharmacy will be giving Moderna starting next week. So great for folks who really have trouble setting up appointments as they will take phone calls. And it’s convenient for many.
