CPS Student Response Pad

Can a CPS Response Pad be used for more than one class? My son is enrolled in Chemistry 227 and Biology 111 and both list the pad as a requirement. I'm assuming that this can be used for both, but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

And (hope you don’t mind happy) where is the cheapest place to buy one?

Daughter also needs one as it was on the list. I don’t know what it is. Anyone??

Yes, you can use it for multiple classes. I just think you need to buy multiple codes to register? There aren’t really any places to buy them cheap. They usually sell out fast at all bookstores. So hurry and buy one wherever.

David - It’s a clicker pad used for participation/quizzes/attendance/etc.

Are all clickers equal, such as [Amazon.com: CPS RF Response Pad with LED Screen (9781881483717): Einstruction: Books](http://www.amazon.com/CPS-Response-Pad-LED-Screen/dp/1881483711/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1282916393&sr=1-1) or are they school/system specific? I am also a bit confused as to what the “code” is for.

To further elaborate my confusion in my previous post, online information makes it appear that one “registers” their device to the classroom system using the clickers serial number. Is there yet another “code” that one has to purchase? If so, is a seperate “code” purchased for each class?

We ended up getting our CPS at one of the local bookstores…a great store if you need anything…Texas AggieLand Bookstore. It’s on Texas Ave. across the street from Target. http://txag.com/home.aspx</a></p>

To get the code…It costs $13 to get the code that you need to register it for your class. You’ll need the serial number that is on the CPS to do this. You order it here:

[eInstruction - Simple Solutions. Real Results.](<a href=“Home - Echo360”>http://einstruction.com/)

At the top of the page, click on “CPSOnline Login”
Choose “Higher Student”
From the pulldown message, choose Texas A&M University (no city after the name)

Click on “Choose Site”

That will take you to a screen where you need to set up a username and password.

The next screen will say “Account Information”.
On the bottom line, click on “Enroll in a Class”.
The next screen will be “Enroll in a class”.

“Class key” should have been given to you by the instructor (my son’s Biology teacher emailed it to them)

“Serial number” will of course be on the CPS as mentioned above.

“Student ID” will be the Net ID you use to log in to Howdy, etc.

The next screen will allow you to purchase one semester for $13 or $35 for unlimited times. We chose the $35 option so when we register it for other classes, we won’t have to pay $13 every time.

I hope that helps!

Great detailed information, which I will forward to my daughter. Thanks. How much is the clicker itself?

Thanks happy…my son called while he was at Walmart, so I sent him to that bookstore. He called me back saying that he did get one.

About the CPS pad… I’d be very careful about buying it. I had it listed as required materials for one of my classes… it’s been sitting in its box, unopened, since I received it. $30 down the drain. :/

Maybe email your prof?
