OK SOOO I got into UCSB BUt I got a D in chem first semester which is freaking lame so now I have to write a letter saying why I got that..except I have no idea what it's suppose to sound like...SOMEONE HELP ME!

wait.... so UCSB asked you for an explanation?

Oh crap, then it's very serious.

Obviously, they're after the truth. If you had health problems, family/friend crisis, etc. tell them what happened and they will be sympathetic (although you will probably still be on probation when you matriculate).

If the reason you got a D is because senioritis got to you a bit too much or you slacked off, or it's one of those "Gee, I don't know how that happened..."

Then.......... well, need I say more?

what grade are you getting now? did you improve..

Tough thing right there. Is it an AP class? Accelerated class? Or just regular.

Because if it's a tougher level course, you have an easier chance of explaining that the class was just very tough for you and that you may have had a tough time understanding the concepts?

But if it's just a regular level class, good luck man because that's going to be hard to get out of.

it's a regular class but during the finals time i was at a C but didn't do well on the final... and then it was around the time that my dad died four years ago...so i'm always all messed up around that time... ERrr...

well then u need to explain that to the college about your father's anniversary of his death.

i just dont know the format of the appeal and how long it's suppose to be and all the details...
