Okay, I have crazy hair (as in angular, all over the place, but definitely clean, smooth, sexy, and shiny). Not to "make a point" but just because I like my hair that way.

If I were to dye it a non-radioactive color, but a non-natural hair color (i.e. purple...) what would the official people do? Like would it result in disciplinary action? When I visited over the summer and saw the art people (the most likely students to have crazy hair) they looked "normal" and I was afraid to ask.

I'm just asking because from what I've read USC is conservative, and while I don't get the "they'll make me shave my hair for being a distraction." I know this isn't high school, but some other places don't allow crazy hair. Like I have to wear a hat at work.

What about other people? I don't doubt that I'll get a "Freak!" or worse, but I keep it this way because I've always had it this way.

I (for reasons unknown to me) have a teenybopper following, but I only get certain kinds of girls my age... The kinds that wear all black and dance at the equinox kinda girls...

It's so trivial, and it has no bearing whatsoever on me deciding to go or not, but I'm just wondering.

No, you don't get in trouble. I have a number of friends who cycle thru hair dye colors, blue, red, purple, burgundy, a guy with long long hair that he's done in green and then pink...

I dyed my hair blue once. One guy thought I lost a bet and one professor made a funny crack at it, but other than that, it seemed like barely anyone noticed.

Of course, I didn't do it properly and it washed out within 2 or 3 days. So who knows.

I know a guy in my high school with pink hair. I know a girl that has three colors in her hair and it's not like highlights or anything. The top of her hair is red, the middle is blue, and the bottom is purple. Dude, I know a girl that shaved off most of her hair. I seriously doubt anyone will care.

It's LA! No one will care, least of all college administrators. Do it while in college just in case you need to get a job later where you need a more conservative do.

At my high school, you're not allowed to change your hair color two shades away from your natural... And it's a public school. The rule reflects the community norms blah blah... And I was actually forced to cut some parts because it went over this arbitrary length limit.

My hair's naturally black so my options have been... limited.
