**Here it is!/b)

Poli 10 - American Politics : Only got a 4 on AP Government =. Only open time for the actual class. Hoping for a later Discussion time so I can sleep in on fridays :)

MATH 20B - Calculus : I'm still not set on whether I want to do Political Science or Economics or Management Science, or who knows what might pop up in the future. Since I already got the AP Calc AB 4+ score, I can't take A, so B it is. I want this time slot so that I have an hour of time between Poli and Math to either have an early Lunch or study. I don't want the course late in the day though, as my brain stops functioning and I just want the rest of the day open for what I want. I'm hoping for the Discussion time to be a good hour after my second class of the day on Thursdays. Not too late, though.

STPA 35 - Society and the Sea : Practically a Political Science class getting Natural Science credit. It lets me get more of the Natural Science Program of Concentration out of the way for Warren. Again, only time slot. There's no (listed) discussion time either (yet at least)too, which rocks. (Other Options for this time slot, but not likely: WCWP 10A, CSE 5A [Intro to Programming I]. Both hard to get into, and I don't think I'll get either)

WCWP 10A - Warren Writing : The required writing class for Warren. I want this slot as it has a nice hour and a half break between it and STPA 35. I can have Lunch then, or desperate study time. Again, only 2 meets a week with no discussion (the class sizes are small) makes it awesome. Its not likely for me to get this class this quarter though, due to many people trying to get into it with few spots.

PHYS 9 - The Solar System : My backup for Warren Writing, with the exact same time slot on my excel sheet Warren Writing has. I'd use it to knock out more of the Natural Science requirement. Another class with no Discussion time (not set yet, at least). No math or physics involved - the ultimate slacker class!

I like my schedule because I'm waking up at a decent time to go to classes, but keeping classes early enough to have a large amount of time left in my day. I have an hour at least between each class (generally for lunch), and I only have 2 classes a day except 3 on thursdays. It may be classes all 5 weekdays a week, but its very little pressure per day. It works quite beautifully!

What possible schedules have you guys come up with? Need opinions, help? Ask here! I'm sure we'll be able to help each other with this.

Nice schedule........really gave me a wake up call, since I havent even started thikin abt mine, neways are the lectures gonna be 2 hours long?I thought they had a 50 min duration?

Oh I think you misread the times a little. Most lectures are 50 minutes. The classes that meet two times a week, though, have classes for an hour and 20 minutes. Basically, 3 hours of a class per week is needed. I just mark off the next 10 minutes after a class as part of the class.

Do most people take 4 classes their first quarter?
On the 4-year plan they only recommend 3!

They recommend 3-4 as the normal courseload, but I think 4 is really the standard. It would be hard to graduate only taking 3 classes per quarter.

Here's my best guess at my schedule:

Math 20x - Differential Equations: I gotta take this one math class during my four years at UCSD for an engineering degree.
WCWP 11A - Warren Scholars Seminar: I thought summer reading got buried with high school. :(
Physics 2A - Mechanics: Physics + Calculus? That's like bringing a burning match and dynamite together.
ECE 15 - Computation: I guess I'll try ECE as a major. I might do Economics too.

Hah! Sucks to be honors Slorg ;) You should have slacked like me!

Looked into course times and teachers and such yet?

I did slack... but not enough apparently. I think 2-4/4 of my classes will be on TTh. I want to find out if I can take physics for physics majors instead of physics for science majors. It would really suck to change my major to physics and have to comletely redo the whole ABC series.

http://dev.tritonschedule.com/

This WOULD be cool....if it weren't for last winter only right now. Too bad really. Maybe it'll update soon?

Possible schedule i made up (Note: I was only able to pick my class time for Math20A)

Chem 4 (yeah I know...Horrible): 8:00 - 8:50 a.m. (MWF)
-Lab: 1 - 3:50 (F)
SE 1: 8 - 9:20 a.m. (TuTh)
-Lab: 11 - 11:50 a.m. (W)
Math 20A: 11 - 11:50 a.m. (MF); 6 - 6:50 p.m. (W)
-Disc: 3 - 3:50 p.m. (T)
SE (Freshmen Seminar): 1 - 1:50 (Th)

This is the best possible schedule I could think of.

dang slorg, what's your major?

im screwed

So my Wednesdays and Thursdays look packed, and I totally don't have Friday off like I wanted. Oh well. At least my earliest class is 11:00 (I had the option to take Math 20B at 8:00 A.M., but I'm not going to kid myself.)

College, it's electrical engineering right now, but that might change in the future. Also, I saw that you can get credit for the 2x physics series as a physics major, so it looks like I'll be taking physics 2A.

So I have to wake up earlier in this schedule, which is why it's option 2. Haha, can you tell I'm not a morning person? My Wed-Fri still suck.

Make sure your Final exam date/time dont conflict.

anyone starting off with the chem 6b fall quarter?

how can you check if your final exam date/times dont conflict? I thought you couldn't really do that until you actually registered?
