Perhaps this is – for lack of a better word – a ‘stupid’ question, but to pursue creative writing at Middlebury would it be advised for me to major in English Lang. and Lit.?
You can major in Creative Writing at Midd. The major is housed in the English and American Literatures department, but your major is Creative Writing.
Creative writing at Middlebury appears to function “within the English and American Literatures major.”
To clarify, it seems that Middlebury does not offer creative writing as a major. With respect to choosing your major, you could select a field that might inform your writing (e.g., EAL, history, classics). Alternatively, you could simply choose a major that aligns with your general and career interests, while pursuing an array of creative writing electives through EAL.
@merc81 You are correct - despite listing Creative Writing as an undergraduate program, Middlebury does not seem to be a specific Creative Writing undergraduate major.
