Credit and Placement Test

Hi:

I am a bit confused about the math placement tests at Penn. The Penn website mentions all the math placement tests that can be taken, but it also mentions that "If you pass 240 at Penn, with at least a grade of C, you may come to the math office and receive retroactive credit for 114. " under Retroactive Credit at
Transfer Credit for Math Courses at Penn

Does this mean that I don't have to take the math 114 placement test and just go through with 240 and get credit for 114 afterwards?? If not, what exactly does that statement on the website mean?? Thanks

yes, that's correct (you can do the same thing with 114-104, too)
