I currently go to U. Delaware honors program and want to transfer to Georgetown. Will it help my admission prospects if GU sees that Delaware has already awared me 28 credits, before taking any classes? I am essentiall already a sophomore.

Also, I am a legacy at georgetown. My dad graduated from the college, where I will be applying, in 1984. Can this be of some help to my admission?

Thanks.

I'm not sure specifically about Georgetown, but I know that the school I transferred to (WashU) will not take any AP, CLEP, or anything of the like credits from transfer students. So I'm not sure if that will necessarily help.

Nope, it does not matter what other schools do with AP credit. It only matters what the scores on the AP are and your grades. Most top colleges and universities do not take alternative credit options including the AP.

Georgetown will look at your HS transcript and test scores, like they do with first-year applicants. And, a legacy, as you are aware, does have a slight edge if you apply during a schools ED/EA round.
