So I’ve done some CR passages and I realized that many of my mistakes were from questions where I’ve been able to narrow it down to two answer choices, but I chose the wrong choice. Do you guys have any tips on how to deal with two answer choices?
For me, it was just practice. If you are able to eliminate the other 3 choices, it seems to me that you already have the skill to eliminate choices, and you are on the right track. Practicing a lot more will help you hone your skills to eliminate the 1 remaining one. It took me a long time to get the hang of elimination, 2 years in fact, but once I got it, the rest because gradually easier. I practice 2 critical reading passages a day.
Haha, two years… I only have like a month and half
I’m saying it took me 2 years to master elimination, but after that it got a lot easier. You already have mastered this skill, you just need to practice more.
Have you heard of Noitaperp’s guide to CR yet? It’s great if you want to narrow down between 2 choices, better check out his post
I have heard of it. I’ve used similar methods in the past and realized breaking it paragraph by paragraph was not my style. It made me focus on the paragraphs itself too much rather than the passage and I ended running out of time before getting to all the questions.
