<p>Has anyone's son/daughter applied to cross commission? My son, Air Force Academy Class of 2007, wants to cross commission in the Marine Corps upon graduation. He has recently been accepted to the USMC Officer Candidate School at Quantico. He's taking part in OCS as part of his USAFA summer program. I'm just wondering how different and difficult this is to accomplish. He's got his heart set upon it and feels that acceptance into the summer OCS almost gives him a guarantee of a cross commission. Any input on this?</p>
<p>As long as someone from USNA wants to be commissioned as an Air Force officer there should not be a problem. It is my understanding that all interservice transfers by academy graduates have to balance out. X from USAFA to Navy/Marines and X from USNA to Air Force; Y from USMA to Air Force and Y from USNA to Army; etc.</p>
