Cross post, but I want to transfer to Haas.

I'm leaving high school this year and heading straight to my local junior college to begin the transfer program. I would have started my junior year in HS this year, but due to a number of personal reasons, I've decided on doing the CC route. My aim is still Berkeley - I know around 20% of their students are transfers. I just want to know what I have to realistically do (besides maintaining high grades) while at my junior college to actually have a shot at Haas. On the other hand, I could also transfer to UCB for another major, but I took a business class and I love it. Thank you in advance.

become active at your cc such as extracurriculars and take on leadership positions. getting a job also helps.

A summer internship would be a big boost

You really have to stand out in the crowd if you want to get to Haas you have to maintain a very high GPA, finish all your prerequisites for Haas. And also have very good extracurriculars that demonstrate leadership. More than being a president of a club, real leadership experience and also an internship in a fairly well known business would be great. But it is very difficult to get into Haas many stellar students get rejected from Haas so even if you do damn near perfect at your CC it is still a crap shoot.

if your aim is berkeley, and you want to do business, economics is probably an equivalent substitute. let me repeat this: if your aim is BERKELEY, then you should be shooting for ECONOMICS. if your aim is HAAS, that's a different story.

what would i need to do for haas then?
