D went over to UCF today to pick up a catalog. When she got there she experienced such heavy traffic, described "white knuckle driving" and said there were cars and people EVERYWHERE! She thought maybe they were moving in or out of dorms, but was completely overwhelmed by the amount of people she saw. I have been to this campus twice and neither time did it seem even remotely busy. We are well aware of the size of UCF, but the campus is also large. Perhaps she went during some sort of event? She came home in a panic, wondering if she made the right choice..and has definite reservations now.
Is this the norm?

Commencement May 8 - 9 both days. On-campus housing closed this week, too.

When I lived near Rutgers University, I experienced massive gridlock throughout graduation weekend.

JerseyShoreMom is right… UCF is definitely not as crowded (traffic-wise) during the regular school year.

Lots of kids moving out of dorms … traffic from commencement, and then you’ll add in by June the commencements of every high school in the area that has booked the arena for their graduations. Certain days and times will be a zoo. Then it’ll settle back down. :)

zebes

thanks. that’s good to know. my teenager will be in one of those graduations in that arena!
