<p>This is not a new idea. I read somewhere that in Princeton (I think) some years ago, there was a similar program. It was all well and good until someone hacked it and embarrassed everybody. </p>

<p>Anyway, the idea is that you select a bunch of people you have crushes on. If that other person also selects you as a crush, then you're both notified and voila! a match is made.</p>

<p>Anyone else think this will only further de-socialize our IM Generation? Personally, I think there's a character-building aspect of approaching people you're attracted to and trying to make something of it. This surreptitious FB romance just seems incredibly lame. Ain't no great love stories gonna emerge about the Lizzies and Mr. Darcy's of Facebook.</p>

<p>apps are just for fun, to make the profile big and colorful...they shouldn't be taken seriously. But I got tired of all the apps in mine, so I left just the basics, and a harry potter one...now I can actually find my wall......:)</p>
