Hey I’m Erik and I have always wanted to go to UMICH, but I am also not too sure of my chances of admission :(. I am Caucasian and Middle Eastern (would that matter to be put in my application, would it hurt my chances because like 9/11 and possible racism) in ethnicity and currently a junior going into senior year. My SAT score was really bad due to getting food poisoning (1310, 600 R/W 710 M), but I plan on retaking it and scoring from 1350-1450 (my score range from practice tests). My GPA is ok and my class rank is sort of bad (3.87, 30/190). For course work, I have taken somewhat advanced classes (bio/chem and a year advancement on math, culminating in taking precalc my junior year) as well as self studying AP Calc BC my junior year (extremely confident I got a 5) and taking dual enrollment classes at a local college (5, 4 finished with an A and one dropped). For extracurriculars, I was president of the young republicans and I occasionally volunteer in Rotary. For personal development, I have had several projects that I coded. One of which that I am most proud about was a differentiation API that I made in Java as well as plugins for Minecraft Servers. Do you guys think I could get in to UMICH?
