<p>I would also go to Michigan. I visited both campuses, and I thought Michigan, as a school, was more unique, interesting, and vibrant. The students also had more school pride and the facilities were almost all top notch. It was my second choice school.</p>
<p>On the other hand, I felt that Illinois had more of a cookie-cutter midwestern state school feel. A lot of the time, it just felt like a bigger, slightly nicer, blue & orange version of University of Nebraska (NE=my home state). I don’t mean this in a negative way, that’s just my honest impression of the campus. The engineering school IS highly ranked though, and has a VERY good reputation among people in the engineering field (but not so much among the general public).</p>
