Css Profile Disaster!!!!

Alright, I just submitted my CSS Profile and according to Collegeboard, Yale's estimated time for processing it is 11/03/06 which is past the SCEA deadline. Does that really hurt me in the admissions process and will they not evaluate my Yale application since I turned in the CSS Profile late? I'm freaking out here!!!:(

wait.... the css profile isn't NECESSARY... is it?

i thought we just had to register, how can you fill all of that information right now?

you have to estimate info for the 2006 year

the CSS is necessary

I don't think they will care that the CSS is a couple of days late as long as all other parts of the app are in on time

Evil,
I got the same message, but I hope that Sohni is right and that this may just delay the fin aid package part if accepted, I hope it will not affect the actual admissions part of the process. I think I will call Yale on Monday and find out.

is CSS necessary if you're not applying for financial aid?

18, no.

evil_asian: It is okay that you did not get it in on time. When I applied to Yale, I got accepted without even filling out any financial aid forms. I did fill them out later, and got a generous aid package. I had to do the same thing at similar schools due to a difficult financial situation. Financial aid forms are completely irrelevant to your admissions process.

it seems that admissions wil not know about the css because it is sent ot a different office. they wont bother to check it out until your in. i guess it reinforces that they're "need blind". Im sending mine in today/tomorrow.

the app and fin aid info goes to different offices. i dont think yale will bother to look at your css profile until you are accepted. sorta reinforces their needblind philospohy a bit.

so.. technically, if what you're saying about the financial aid information not being important until you are admitted is true, I could save myself the money of sending the CSS to Yale and see whether or not I get in, first?

based on what people are saying, that is correct. i would not, however, take the chance. its a gamble.
