Might be because they are updating your portal. I would wait and try again in a day or two.

Accepted to Molecular Cell Biology and Physiology!
4.33 wGPA, 3.8 uwGPA, 10 AP classes, 6 honors classes, no test scores.
First gen, low income, OC, CA area.

Question regarding the provisional admission. If a student is accepted with “provisional admission,” but received a “D” in one AP class in the first semester of the senior year, would this mean the school will rescind the admission? All other grades are “A” and “B.”

From what I’ve heard, if you intend on attending, you must inform that college immediately and let them know and what you plan to do to fix that grade, like retaking the course from some online school or so

EDIT: I would check with someone who’s been in a similar predicament before making any further decisions

Thanks for the replies. All of my son’s grades are great, but he was having some issue with the online curriculum on Canvas. I just feel bad because I know that he is trying really hard and is doing really well. It just seems draconian to rescind an acceptance letter because one AP class fell a little short. Hopefully, they will be understanding… Appreciate the replies.

How do you check your GPA on the CSU app? Thanks!

If you receive a D Senior year, it is important to contact the school and see what can be done to help mitigate the low grade. Do not wait until you are enrolled and final transcripts are due since schools do not like surprises. Most Cal states are usually understanding but some are not especially the impacted campuses where there are many qualified applicants that they had to turn down for admission. Which class since this can also make a difference? As a seasoned CC contributor, I have seen several admissions rescinded so be proactive.

Hey! Okay here is how to check your CSU GPA, login into cal state apply, and click academic history, then click A-G matching, and scroll to the bottom and your CSU GPA will be there!

Need guidance.

When checking my son’s app status, he does the thing where you put in your info and it tells you it will send you an email with the status.

Note that it says “submit your FINAL official high school transcript with the date of graduation”, and then talks about applying for financial aid. What the heck? Final transcript? Any ideas? We’ll probably just have him call admissions? Also note he has not received any request for documents from them, and there is no portal to check to-dos and such, so this is the only communication from them, one you get only when you request it. Any thoughts?

Edit: he has now received an email to the same effect. While we’re confused at the language, asking for a final transcript, we’re just going to submit the current transcripts.

This is most of the content of the email.

He is writing a letter to Long Beach State Admissions that will be sent via email explaining that the grade is an anomaly and that he is taking the class again this semester and has a solid “B.” The class was AP Human Geography, which is not something that he needed to take, but did so to bolster his academic portfolio, which obviously backfired. I am hoping that his proactiveness and his willingness to turn the grade around will help his case. His teacher stated that she will change the grade once it is posted for the second semester. However, I don’t know what will happen. I can just pray for the best. Thank you again for your comment, it is appreciated.

Best of luck to him. Since he is doing better 2nd semester and he contacted them early, hopefully they will be understanding about the situation.

I got denied with a 3.95 CSU gpa, applied to marketing.

THANKS QUEEN LOL <3 I appreciate it and good luck to you, wherever you go!!

I am not in your same position but I found lots of insightful videos on youtube that will give some first hand insight & tips!

Is anyone else applying to the honors college? If so, do you know what the UHP community’s social justice aims are that we are supposed to include in the personal statement? Thanks!

Receieved a new status update today:

We appreciate your patience during this process, and we will contact you by email. Check your email account regularly for messages from CSULB and be sure to respond to our requests as soon as possible but no later than the deadline given.

Anyone got this message and then got their decsiions? How long did it take you to hear back about your decision?

I asked this before, and yes, people were getting that, and then later it changed to them getting in. Doesn’t seems LB is done with admissions or anything else. Good luck.
