Just got my admission decision and I got in! Super happy
Congrats!!!
Thank you!
Did they send out honors notifications yet?
I’m really late to this chat, but I got accepted into Long Beach in February and I found it strange that they admitted me for Pre Psychology. Does that mean I did not qualify for direct admission into my major? If that’s the case I am somewhat confused as I thought my stats were rather high.
Highly Impacted majors require Freshman to be admitted into a Pre-major where you need to be meet GPA and course requirements before declaring the actual major. See link and look up the Psychology requirements.
I got in 2 weeks ago and still havent recieved instructions to set up my CSULB portal? Did anyone get such a mail and after how long ?
Is there a social media parents’ group for Long Beach? Facebook perhaps? Looking but I am not finding one!
Never mind just got it today!
I just got accepted today for Civil Engineering. They required me to write an essay for this alternative admission program a month ago.
Hey everyone for those of you who are still waiting for CSULB or other colleges to release decisions, I made a video recording all of the times when my decisions came out so people after me can know when to expect theirs’s. Good luck (realistic) College Decision Reactions 2020!!! UC, CSU, Johns Hopkins, Boston University, & more... - YouTube
Is anyone else still waiting for decisions? My son hasn’t heard yet. Applied for CS. Unconventional student due to homeschooling, and A-G being wonky. I’m sure that’s why he hasn’t heard yet, but still wondering if there are others still waiting.
got accepted for environmental science & policy through beach pathways yesterday!
Had anyone heard back from Honors program?
Can someone help me decide between CSULB or Vanguard University?
What’s your major? And did you get any financial aid at Vanguard?
no, we haven’t. i am trying to find out what sort of timeline to expect
I emailed them and they said “ Decisions will not be released until 35 days after the deadline of this application round which will be sometime in April.”
anyone who got into “pre-CS” at CSULB considering another school where you got into a direct admit CS program? my son wants to go to CSULB, but he got into some other CSUs (Chico, Fullerton, San Marcos, Sonoma) where it’s direct admit. is it known to be hard to get into CS from pre-CS? he’s also on a couple UC waitlists (applied to CS), but I hear if he gets off the WL, he will prob get in as undeclared (which may be even harder to get into CS major)?
Several of the impacted CSU campuses have pre-major status for their popular majors but the GPA requirement is not a high GPA threshold compared to some other schools/programs. For CSULB, all you need is 2.5 cumulative GPA to declare the major in the pre-req courses. I would not pass up CSULB just because the admission has Pre-major status.
To become fully admitted into the Computer Science major, all prospective students (i.e., pre-majors, undeclared, major changes) must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and complete the following lower-division courses with a minimum grade of “C” prior to earning 60 units:
Core Lower-Division Major Requirements:
MATH 122 - Calculus I (4 units)
MATH 123 - Calculus II (4 units)
PHYS 151 - Mechanics and Heat (4 units)
General Education Foundations Courses:
Written and Oral Communication
