CSU sat/act score sends please help!

I applied to Cal State Fullerton, Cal poly San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly Pomona, and San Diego State University (got accepted).

  1. When they say it’s due on a certain day, does it mean they have to get it by that day or we have to send it by that day?
  2. since I already got accepted by San Diego state university, do I have to send them my SAT/ACT?
  3. Are cal states like UCs where if you submit your score to one UC campus the others you applied will also get it?
  4. I found that Fullerton prefers the SAT over the ACT online. Is that true? I have a 30 for ACT and 1310 for SAT.
  5. Is this the same for SAT subject tests?
  1. If there is a deadline posted, then you should have the scores sent by that date. Deadlines can be flexible but after the deadline, there is no guarantee they will be used in your application review.
  2. SDSU will ask for an official score report so you might as well send them in now.
  3. If you submit scores to one UC campus, then all will share those scores. Just be aware the deadline for the UC's was December 31, 2019 so scores received after that date may not be available in time for your application review.
  4. UC's and CSU's do not have a preference so send your best score(s). CSU's do superscore while UC's only take the highest score from a single sitting.
  5. SAT subject tests are not required by the CSU's and only recommended by the UC's. They will also share the scores if you send them to one CSU and UC. You can use score choice for the SAT subject scores.

congrats on SDSU!

1 they should have it by the due date.
2 if SDSU doesn’t have your test score you should have it sent asap (if you want to attend).
3 i know at least the SAT has an ‘all CSUs’ option (3594) to direct your scores to all 23 campuses - if you chose that when you sat for the test, they should all have it. I’d be surprised if the ACT didn’t have a similar option. If you sent the score to a specific CSU, don’t expect it to be shared with the other CSUs
4 I’d send both, they’ will pick the one that gives you the highest index

5 CSUs don’t consider subject tests in admissions.

@Gumbymom since cal poly san Luis Obispo’s deadline for sat/act scores is Jan 15, should I rush score or should I just send it in?

I would rush them since SLO’s deadline is in a week. Regular submission can take up to 14 days.

@Gumbymom so they have to get my score by the 15th? and my second question is: since cpp and csf have deadlines later than the 15th should I only use rush score on act to send it to SLO and then use regular sends for cpp and csf and SDSU

If you send your test scores to SLO, all the CSU’s will have access to that score so there is no need to send your scores separately to the other CSU’s.

From the CSU apply website:
** To submit your official ACT scores, refer to https://www.act.org/ and request your scores be sent to any of the CSU campuses. Scores sent to any campus within the California State University (CSU) system will be available to all campuses you apply to. It takes approximately 10-12 business days from the date you make the request to post to your application.

@Gumbymom I tried searching up online and i didn’t see any option on the act to rush the scores.

@Pinkeydance: The score is report is Priority

**Ordering Priority Reports
The ACT also offers priority reports, which are delivered within two weeks–but oftentimes within even two or three business days. Priority reports cost $16.50 per test, per school.

You can order priority reports online, by mail, or by phone. If you choose to order by phone, call ACT Inc. at 319-337-1313. If you order by phone, ACT will charge you a $15.00 phone service fee in addition to the cost of the report.

@Gumbymom i just called the cal state admissions office and they said they dont need me to send in actual scores until I get admitted. Im kind of confused right now.

It depends upon the Cal state campus. If a CSU sends you an email to submit your scores, then you should send them. Did SLO ask for your scores? Since SLO’s deadline is soon, you might want to call them specifically. If you send the scores to SLO, then they will be available for all the other campuses. I always recommend to send scores once you have completed all your testing.

@Pinkeydance:

SLO application instructions:

** Send us as many ACT and SAT scores as you’d like. We will utilize the test score that will best benefit the applicant in our process. We do not average the scores or use only the most recent score submitted.
• We guarantee all scores for tests taken prior to November 30th, as long as the scores are received by our office by the application change deadline for your program which is January 15. Feel free to call our office to check on what scores have been received.
• We will be using only the English, Reading, and Math sections for ACT and Evidence Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) and Math for the SAT.
• College Board institution codes for Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo: (ACT: 0188) (SAT: 4038**

To clarify, regarding SAT/ACT test scores. You are to submit an official SAT/ACT score report to at least one of the Cal states. Some CSU’s may require the submission of these scores by a specific deadline especially for impacted campuses and majors due to a higher admission requirement.

The only campus you should be worrying about is SLO since their deadline is 6 days away. The rest of the campuses will share the scores submitted to SLO.

Send your scores to CP SLO asap! Good luck
