CSU to CC before UC?

Basically, I've read that people can go to the CSU, then for the last 30 credits, finish up at a CC that way they can qualify for the TAG program, and also get priority for enrollment in a UC.

Please, someone clarify if this is true, and if there are any missing details.

Yea its true just make sure you have your all your math and english classes done by the Fall semester so you’ll be eligible for TAG.

Oh, wow thank you for the quick response. This is really relieving.

Can you call the UC’s and ask them about transferable classes from a CSU?

And as far as the second year at the CC goes, does anyone know the names of any of the less impacted CC’s? (California obviously.)

Are you already at a CSU? If not just go to a CC then transfer to a UC. Much easier.

No, but I’m going to go to a CSU the first year to make sure I can even meet the requirements. If not then instead of transferring to CC I’ll just stay there.

Can’t you ask the admissions offices what classes will transfer over from CSUs?

Or do they not like when people do this?

I’m almost certain you won’t be able to ask the counselors which classes transfer. If your wondering if a class will transfer over you should read it’s description and check the UC you want to go to course catalog to see if there is a similar class. Typically though remedial english and math classes don’t transfer over. I went to cal poly Pomona last year, a cc this year, and will be attending ucsb next fall. If you have any questions feel free to message me.

You should definitely go to a CC before transferring to a UC…CSU to CC to UC is extremely complicated and a big waste of money.
