CSU to CC to UC?

Okay, so I am registered for CSU San Marcos for this upcoming fall as a freshmen. I am planning on applying as a transfer to USC once I finish my first year at CSUSM, since USC doesn't require any minimum GPA.

My backup plan is if I don't get into USC, I will drop out of CSU San Marcos altogether and head on over to community college in hopes of transferring to a UC through TAG.

My question is, is the transition from CSU to CC to UC easy? Will my courses taken at CSU transfer over to my CC and count as credit when I apply for UC? Also, I am starting out with 12 credits, since I passed AP Calculus AB and BC test. Those will transfer too as well right?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the courses you take at CSU will transfer to CC and to UC **IF **they are UC-transferable. To find out if this is so, I would find the CC equivalent of the CSU course, then use the CC catalog to find out if the class is UC-transferable

Yes, the AP scores will transfer over as credit to a CC.

Your transition from CC to UC would be like any other CC student applying to UC EXCEPT you will have a STRICT unit limitation placed upon you in terms of how many TOTAL units you can transfer to a UC. If you spend a total of 2 years before transferring, you should be fine.
