CSU vs UC PRE MED HELP

Hi all,

I'm a senior in high school and deciding between as CSU (california state university) or a UC( university of california) for my pre med undergraduate study(yes I'm sure). I can get into most UC's and CSU's. I want to go to a CSU because it's cheaper and easier to earn a higher gpa for med school. However, a UC is more prestigious and have a generally better reputation than CSU's.

Should I go to a CSU and earn a higher gpa or go to a UC and perhaps get a smaller gpa than I would at a CSU but have a diploma from a more prestigious university?

Thank you!!

Don’t go to a CSU. Most medical schools will see what you’re trying to do and won’t let you in.

UC’s are the preferred route if you are interested in attending Medical School, however; if you attend a top rated CSU such as Cal Poly SLO/SDSU/CSULB and get an outstanding GPA, have great EC’s and a competitive score on the MCAT, you will just a competitive as other Med school applicants. I know several CSU’s grads that have gotten into Medical school. Good Luck and ignore the poster @DickCheney.
